Senator Hwang Statement Following Bond Commission Approval for Police Body Cameras for Fairfield, Newtown Departments

State Senator Tony Hwang (R-28) released the following statement after the Bond Commission approved funding for police body cameras for the Fairfield and Newtown Police Departments.

HARTFORD – On Tuesday, April 2nd the Connecticut State Bond Commission approved bonding for seven municipalities to purchase body-worn recording equipment and digital storage devices for law enforcement.

The Fairfield Police Department was awarded $742,224 and Newtown Police Department was awarded $69,434 in Grants in Aid.
