CT Dental Hygienists Honor Sen. Heather Somers
The Connecticut Dental Hygienists’ Association has presented its “2021 Legislative Award” to Sen. Heather Somers in recognition of Sen. Somers’ support and advocacy for oral and public health policies.
“Strengthening our oral and public health policies has been a top priority for me as a state lawmaker,” Sen. Somers said. “I have great respect for our dental hygienists and the skilled work they do. Oral health is a major contributor to overall health, and our dental professionals play a crucial role in our lives. I am honored to receive this recognition, and I will continue to be a champion for common sense oral and public health legislation.”
A Deputy Senate Republican Leader, Sen. Somers serves as Ranking Senator on the Connecticut General Assembly’s Public Health Committee. Sen. Somers, a resident of Groton, was elected to serve the 18th Senate district in 2016.
