Somers, Groton Officials To Discuss Malloy’s Budget Cuts

GROTON – State Sen. Heather Somers, R-Groton, with join State Rep. Joe de La Cruz, D-Groton, State Rep. Christine Conley, D-Groton, Groton school, union and municipal officials Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the Groton Board of Education administration offices to discuss the proposed budget reductions to the town under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s 2018-2019 state budget proposal.

The press conference will be held in the office of Superintendent Michael N. Graner at 1300 Flanders Road, Mystic.

“Gov. Malloy budget is an irresponsible, arbitrary attack on the people of Groton,” said Somers. “The reaction from Groton officials, parents and those who care about our town is one of disbelief and anger.”
