Heather Somers Sworn in to State Senate

On Wednesday, January 4, 2016 Senator Heather Somers was sworn in to the Connecticut Senate. Senator Somers is one of four newly elected Republicans to join the state Senate. Somers was elected this November to represent the 18th Senate District including the towns of Griswold, Groton, North Stonington, Plainfield, Preston, Sterling, Stonington, and Voluntown. She has been appointed to serve as Senate Republican Chair of the General Assembly’s Public Health Committee, and Vice Chair of the Education Committee, Environment Committee, and Higher Education Committee.
