If you were recently laid off, or if you know someone who recently lost their job or is looking for a new position, here’s some important information about an upcoming job fair.

Frontier will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its East Region Headquarters located at 310 Orange Street in New Haven.

After hearing about the devastating news that approximately 600 employees will be laid off from their call center positions in the Stratford/Shelton area by Optimum, I joined fellow lawmakers to ask the state Department of Labor to help those being laid off find new jobs. I was very happy to learn about this private sector job fair already in the works.

Clearly, a layoff of this magnitude will impact the already challenging situations many of our families are facing. That’s why it’s so important that we work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that as much help as possible can be directed to our community. My heart goes out to all the families impacted. I will continue to share information about other job opportunities as it becomes available.
