In a June 22 ceremony at Enfield Town Hall, Sen. John A. Kissel and 360 Federal Credit Union presented Essay Contest Awards to area sixth graders.

Students from public and parochial elementary schools in Enfield participated in the contest by submitting a 300-word essay about their favorite person who has ever lived in the state of Connecticut.

“We hold this contest every year, and I never cease to be amazed by Enfield students’ writing and research skills,” Sen. Kissel said. “We are very proud of all of them, and we once again offer our thanks to 360 Federal Credit Union for donating the contest prizes. Without their generosity, this annual event would not be possible.”

“At 360 Federal Credit Union, we strongly support youth education programs in the communities we serve,” said 360 Federal Credit Union Business Development Officer Carissa Pape. “This essay contest brings area schools, students, teachers and parents together in a collaborative effort which encourages children to research and write. We’re proud to support the contest and we congratulate the winners and runners-up for their very thoughtful efforts.”
