Goshen – Senator Clark Chapin (R-New Milford) and Senator Kevin Witkos (R-Canton) congratulate the youth participants in the 82nd Litchfield County 4-H Fair at the Goshen Fairgrounds. The annual fair took place on August 2 and 3 and gave members of the local youth development organization an opportunity to honor their members and showcase their work including robotics projects and farm animal care.

“It was wonderful to see so many young people come out and show off their hard work,” said Sen. Chapin. “By participating in their local 4-H clubs, these kids are learning special skills and getting the encouragement they need to become strong leaders. It is extremely rewarding for the youth to participate in this fair, and inspiring for all the attendees as well. Definitely a job well done!”

“What a great event. From the robotics club demo to all the animal shows you can hope for at a local fair, this event had it all. I want to congratulate all the 4-H youth participants. This event has a long history in our community, and it is always inspiring to see the tradition and the legacy live on through our children.”

4-H is the nation’s largest youth development and empowerment organization, reaching more than 7 million 4-H youth in urban neighborhoods, suburban schoolyards and rural farming communities.

In Litchfield County, about 350-400 youth are enrolled in one or more of approximately 25 local 4-H clubs throughout the county. Children learn skills related to computers, engineering, technology, agriculture, animals and more.
