Celebrating 25 years in Business

Hartford, CT – State Representative Whit Betts (R-Bristol) and State Senator Jason Welch (R-Bristol) congratulate Mary Goehring on 25 years in business. Goehring launched her dictation business, Transcription Plus LLC nearly three decades ago when she needed to create a job allowing her to raise her daughter and work from home in Bristol.

“Mary Goehring is a visionary. She created a transcription business that enhanced the value of the spoken word in a number of important fields that depend on accuracy like the medical field,” said Sen. Welch.

Transcription Plus LLC is a business with 55 staff working around the country to deliver
digital audio dictation, along with effortless electronic data transmission over the internet. Federal health law requiring confidentiality and security requirements lead to the creation of Transcription Plus’s launched of a secure (FTP) File Transfer Protocol web server; allowing straightforward, secure transmission of digital dictation voice files and completed medical reports.

“I applaud Mary’s fortitude and ingenuity in being able to evolve and remain competitive throughout the years and industry changes,” said Rep. Betts. “I offer her my sincerest congratulations and I wish she and her staff continued success in the years to come.”

Mary Goehring and her staff toured the Capitol in Hartford this week and then received a proclamation and citation from the Bristol delegation and the Governor’s Office for Transcription Plus, LLC’s excellence in achievement.

“From dictation on tape recorders and couriers in the infancy of her business to 21st century digital audio dictation – Mary has brought her once home-based business to the national level and has sustained growth during a tough economy,” added Welch.

During the last 25 years, Transcription Plus expanded its services to include not only the medical sphere, but to the legal and business professional, as well, and currently provide a full range of services which fit all of the documentation requirements for these domains. The business has been nationally recognized and named a top business by the Better Business Bureau.
