Sen Kissel: Bond Commission Approves Money for Enfield

August 17, 2010

State Bond Commission voted today, August 17th to issue $1.1 million in state bond money to the Town of Enfield as reimbursement for costs associated with the remediation of the fields and Enrico Fermi High School. The Governor and Senator Kissel announced in July that the bonds would be allocated during the August meeting.

“I was very pleased with the Bond Commission’s vote today to issue these important funds to Enfield,” said Sen. Kissel. “We have been waiting for this day for several years and even though we knew in July the funds would be on the August agenda, it is a huge relief to see these funds officially allocated. Enfield has been relying on this money and it was the right thing for the state to make good on its promise to reimburse the town. I was happy to play a role in getting the project on the August agenda and I would like to thank Governor Rell for her strong support, the Bond Commission and everyone in town who worked on this project.”
