Sen. Kissel Attends Somers Ground Breaking Ceremony

State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) joined Somers First Selectwoman Lisa Pellegrini, State Representative Penny Bacchiochi and other local leaders for a ground breaking ceremony Friday, July 30th at Field Road Park in Somers. Somers recently received a Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant for recreation improvements to the Park. The project, set to begin today, August 2nd, includes the reconstruction and repair of tennis courts, a practice tennis court and basketball courts. STEAP grants are administered by the state Office of Policy and Management to eligible small towns.

“First Selectwoman Pellegrini has done a wonderful job in her new position,” said Sen. Kissel. “She worked very hard along with other folks in town to win this grant from the state and I was happy to support their efforts and be a part of the ceremony last week.”
