A bill on the GO List in the State Senate, S.B. 249, would establish a state government run retirement plan and require Connecticut employers to automatically enroll their employees in the plan and begin withholding 2%-5% of gross income if the employer does not offer a comparable alternative.

State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney and other opponents of the government-run retirement plan, including State Senate Minority Leader Pro Tempore Len Fasano, State Senator Joe Markley, State Senator Toni Boucher, and representatives from the business community will hold a press conference at 11:30 a.m. in room 314 of the State Capitol to outline their opposition.
