Republicans stood up for thousands of Connecticut families, fighting to stop a bill that would strip away the rights of parents who choose to educate their children outside the public school system.

H.B. 5468 drew overwhelming opposition. Thousands of people submitted testimony against it. Even a handful of Democrats initially voted “no.”

Then Democratic leadership intervened. Watch this video to see exactly who flipped their votes under pressure, pushed this bill out of the Education Committee, and turned their backs on the families who showed up and spoke out. Every single Republican voted against it.
