Today, Governor Lamont signed S.B. 5 into law.

Protecting children online is important, and I support efforts to keep kids safe. But this bill goes far beyond that.

S.B. 5 creates new regulations, mandates, bureaucracies, working groups, reporting requirements, and government oversight that will impact businesses, employers, developers, and innovation across Connecticut.

Senator Maroney says “well-thought-out regulations” aren't harmful to business. I disagree. Connecticut already struggles to compete, and piling on more regulations is not the way to attract investment, jobs, and opportunity.
