State Senator John A. Kissel
Chief Deputy Republican Leader
John A. Kissel, serving his 16th term, represents Connecticut’s 7th District. He is the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee and the Regulation Review Committee. He is also a member of the General Law Committee. For many years, John has been a leading advocate for seniors and has been recognized for his support of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, safe housing and healthcare. He is also active in numerous civic organizations in his current hometown of Enfield.

I attended the legislative breakfast hosted by Trinity Health and Johnson Memorial Hospital, joined by Representative John Santanella, John Kearny (Treasurer of Johnson Memorial Hospital), Daniel Keenan (Vice President of Government Relations & Advocacy at Trinity Health of New England), and Robert Roose, President of Community Hospitals.
I was there to listen and learn from the hospital's leadership about the challenges they are facing, as well as their continued commitment to providing high-quality care and strengthening healthcare access for our region.
On February 11, 2026, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a legislative discussion with State Senator Jeff Gordon in Ellington at JRegos Gathering Place. We were grateful for the opportunity to meet with residents and local stakeholders, share updates on the upcoming legislative session, and hear directly about the issues most important to our community. These thoughtful conversations are essential to ensuring that the voices of our constituents help guide our work at the Capitol.
