Today, we gathered on Fairfield’s Historic Town Green for the 133rd Annual Fourth of July Celebration to reflect on the ideals that first united our nation 250 years ago.
I was honored to join the Fairfield United Veterans Organization, local leaders, veterans, students, and families in celebrating the courage, sacrifice, and enduring promise of America. Listening to Fairfield Teen Theatre students read the words of the Declaration of Independence was a powerful reminder that the freedoms entrusted to us by those who came before must be protected, cherished, and strengthened for those who will come after us.
Today, we honor the vision of our Founding Fathers, remember the service and sacrifice of every generation that has defended our liberty, and recommit ourselves to leaving an even stronger nation for our children and grandchildren.
America is also a nation built by immigrants—people who came seeking freedom, opportunity, and the chance to build a better life through hard work, determination, and faith. As one of those immigrants, I know firsthand that the American Dream is more than an ideal; it is a promise that has inspired generations to pursue liberty, economic opportunity, and a brighter future for their families.
As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, may we continue to protect the freedoms that unite us, embrace the responsibilities of citizenship, and ensure that the American Dream remains within reach for every generation.
God bless America, and Happy 250th Independence Day! 🇺🇸
