Rail fare hearings extended

State Senator Toni Boucher (R-26) asked the state Department of Transportation to extend the public hearing times for proposed increases for rail and bus fares. The DOT apparently agreed, because hearings have been extended into the evening hours.
The hearing closest to Wilton will take place Wednesday, Sept.14, from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the UConn auditorium, One University Place, Stamford.
Additional hearings will take place:
Sept. 1, 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 at Old Saybrook Town Hall, 302 Main Street, Old Saybrook;
Sept. 7, 4 to 7, Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street, Hartford;
Sept. 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Meriden Town Hall in the City Council Chamber, 142 East Main Street, Meriden;
Sept. 13, 4 to 7, at Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand Street, Waterbury;
Sept. 15, 4 to 6 and 7 to 9, New Haven Hall of Records, Room G-2, 200 Orange Street, New Haven.
