Sen. Harding Statement on Western CT Regional Health System

Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the state’s agreed settlement with Nuvance Health and Northwell Health to form a regional health system across CT and NY. Under the agreement, Danbury Hospital, including the New Milford campus, and Sharon Hospital will transfer to Northwell Health. “Health care in Connecticut must be made more accessible and more affordable.

This deal will help accomplish those goals for western Connecticut residents and health providers.

I continue to prioritize western Connecticut and the northwest corner’s health concerns at the State Capitol, such as keeping the doors of Sharon Hospital’s Maternity Ward open.”
