CT Senate GOP Statement on CT Dems’ Avelo Criticism

Sen. Rob Sampson, Sen. Eric Berthel and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding Connecticut Democrats’ ongoing criticism of Avelo Airlines for flying deportation charter flights for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“What does it say when Connecticut Democrats are directly adversarial to a major company that creates jobs in our communities?

Connecticut should be a business friendly state.

It is already difficult enough to do business here with all the regulations, taxes and fees.

The least Democrats should do is to not attack a private business for entering into a contract with the federal government.

What an extreme message to send to all current and future potential private sector job creators in Connecticut: ‘Make it here…but just be prepared to be cancelled by one-party rule Democrats at a moment’s notice.’ ”
