CT Senate GOP on CT Democrats’ Plan to Hike State Income Taxes
April 17, 2025

For Immediate Release
On behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus, Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding Senate Democrats’ plan to hike state income taxes.
“There will never be enough revenue for Connecticut Democrats.
They privately say ‘tax my constituents more, because they won’t even notice.’
They view the people they represent as an ATM machine.
Keep voting for Democrats and keep the bullseye on your wallets, Connecticut.
Taxes will never go down. Waste, fraud and abuse in state government will never be trimmed. Your unaffordable electricity bills will never drop.
Nothing will ever change.
Senate Republicans continue focusing on making Connecticut a more affordable place to live and work. We have proposed an income tax cut to save families more than $1,000 a year. We have proposed a property tax cap and cutting licensing fees. Our energy solutions will save the average family more than $600 a year.
Our Grassroots Connecticut Senate Republican Tour will criss-cross the state and highlight our solutions to address cost of living crisis here. Connecticut is on the wrong track, but it doesn’t have to be this way.”
