Sen. Paul Cicarella, Sen. Jeff Gordon and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding the recent street takeover in Ansonia involving between 50 and 100 people where at least one person surrounded a police car, jumped on the hood and threw objects at the vehicle. “Another day, another street takeover in Connecticut. Endangering and victimizing the public.

Thank God no one was killed or seriously injured.

Meanwhile, our law enforcement’s hands have essentially been tied.

The mayhem in our communities must stop. Deterrents to the chaos on our streets must be put in place.”
