Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding Rocky Hill-based MTU Aero Engines North America expanding in CT and having a hiring push. “It’s excellent news. We commend the nonprofit AdvanceCT and the CT Department of Economic Development on their work to help grow CT’s aerospace and industrial gas turbine industries.

As policymakers, we must continue to enhance the workforce pipeline in these industries in addition to our focus on skilled trades, bioscience and the construction industry.

We do that by passing policies which make CT more affordable. We do that by teaching students marketable skills at early ages.”
