CT Senate GOP Statement on CT Having 3rd Highest Tax Rates in the U.S.

Sen. Ryan Fazio and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding CT having the third highest tax rates in the U.S. (https://wallethub.com/edu/best-worst-states-to-be-a-taxpayer/2416)

“Under one-party rule, heavy tax burdens are crushing the budgets of CT working class families and small businesses.

Senate Republicans have introduced a plan for income and property tax relief to lower burdens for middle class families by $1,000 annually.

At the same time, Republicans continue to press for significant relief by getting the hidden ‘public benefits’ tax removed from our unaffordable electricity bills.”

The only states with higher tax rates than Connecticut are New York and Illinois.
