CT Senate GOP Continues Asking ?s About re: CT Govt’s Waterbury Abuse Investigation
March 17, 2025

Sen. Jason Perillo, Ranking Senator on the Committee on Children, Sen. Rob Sampson, Sen. Heather Somers and Sen. Stephen Harding today again wrote to the governor asking questions about his investigation regarding the Waterbury man who was allegedly held captive for 20 years. (Click here to view the letter)
“As you continue your investigation into the shocking reports of the Waterbury man who was held in isolation and severely neglected for more than 20 years, we appreciate your pledge to do all that is possible ‘to make sure this is less likely to ever happen again.’
With this in mind, is your administration putting out a tip line or an email address for the public to help you with the investigation?
When will this information be made available?
You note that ‘there are other people in this household, and there were neighbors. It’s incredible how this could go on for so long without more of an early-warning system.’
With this in mind, are you directing resources to determine how this incredible and tragic situation went on for so long? What specifically is being done?”
