“An incredible opportunity.” CT Senate GOP Statement on Future NY Energy Pipeline Projects

Sen. Ryan Fazio and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding the possibility of families in CT saving thousands of dollars a year on energy if pipeline projects are approved by New York.

“We have an incredible opportunity to seize the moment.

We have an opportunity to make CT electricity more affordable for working class families.

Gov. Lamont is right to push to get more energy from nuclear and natural gas into New England.

The governor is also right to continue working with our neighboring states and the federal government to explore greater access to natural gas here in CT.

Family budgets are getting crushed. More supply will lower costs significantly.

At the State Capitol, Republicans continue to press to get the hidden public benefits tax removed from our bills. Our six-point plan can bring about thousands of dollars worth of relief for consumers, but Democrat lawmakers in Hartford have opposed it.

That said, CT Republicans are ready and able to work with the governor, our legislative colleagues, and federal officials alike to lower energy costs for CT residents.”
