New Details of UConn Professor’s World Travels Emerge; CT Senate GOP: “The tip of the iceberg?”

Sen. Rob Sampson, Sen. Henri Martin, Sen. Heather Somers and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding details that have emerged on how a UConn professor allegedly used university funds for vacations to Disney and overseas.

“Eye-opening arrogance, waste, fraud and abuse on display.

And we, the overburdened CT taxpayers, have been paying for all this?

This professor should be fired immediately.

Is this the tip of the iceberg?

Is this happening elsewhere in state government higher education?

We have already witnessed the CSCU Chancellor’s appetite for pricey steak dinners and chauffeured rides on our dime.

Republicans are calling for a full review and audit of all higher education government travel expenses.

Imagine how much CT taxpayer money could be saved?
