CT Senate GOP Statement on ICE Removing Violent Illegal Immigrant

Sen. Rob Sampson, Sen. Eric Berthel, and Sen. Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arresting a Jamaican man wanted for his involvement in a shooting. The individual was previously convicted in CT for 1st-degree threatening with hazard to terrorize and continued to break laws in Connecticut. “Thank you, ICE, for removing this violent illegal alien criminal from CT’s neighborhoods.

Gov. Lamont recently said his message for illegal aliens in Connecticut – including this individual – is, ‘You’re welcome here.’

Republicans disagree.

Violent illegal aliens must be deported, and we commend ICE on making our communities safer with this arrest.”
