Sen. Somers Reacts to Passing of Gov. M. Jodi Rell

State Sen. Heather Somers issued the following statement regarding the passing of former Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell.

“I am heartbroken by the passing of Gov. M. Jodi Rell, a truly remarkable leader whose courage and grace left a lasting mark on our state. She navigated a challenging political landscape with strength and conviction, inspiring so many along the way.

I fondly remember our ladies’ lunches at Shenecossett Beach Club with Representative Winkler, where Jodi’s passion for Connecticut and its people shone through. As one of only two women in her position, she embodied the spirit of determination that we all strive to uphold.

Jodi will forever resonate in the halls of the Capitol, guiding us as we work to honor her legacy. Let’s continue her mission with the same love and dedication she had for Connecticut and its residents. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family; may she always be with you.”
