CT Senate GOP Statement on Fiscal Accountability Reports

Sen. Eric Berthel, Ranking Senator on the Appropriations Committee, Sen. Henri Martin, Ranking Senator on the Finance Revenue and Bonding Committee, and Sen. Minority Leader Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding the 2024 Fiscal Accountability Reports:

“What jumps out in this report is how the governor’s budget office is emphasizing Connecticut’s ‘fixed costs’.

They remain a significant drag on our state.

What is also clear is that if it weren’t for the common sense ‘fiscal guardrails’ that Republicans pushed to enact in 2017, Connecticut would be in a significant financial hole.“
