November 25, 2024

Sen. Paul Cicarella, Ranking Senator on the Public Safety and Security Committee, and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding the capture of the suspect wanted in connection with the killing of a woman and her 4-month-old during a Nov. 19 afternoon drive-by shooting in Hartford. The suspect was arrested in Puerto Rico today by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.

“We thank and commend the U.S. Marshals for their work.

This individual – and all who aided and abetted his escape – must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of Connecticut law.

We continue to pray for the families of an innocent mother and her infant child who were violently struck down.

We must focus on improving public safety in a meaningful and bipartisan way in the 2025 session of the Connecticut legislature.”
