CT Senate GOP statement on 130 mph Route 9 arrest

Sen. Henri Martin, who represents Plainville, Sen. Tony Hwang, Ranking Senator on the Transportation Committee, and Sen. Paul Cicarella, Ranking Senator on the Public Safety and Security Committee issued the following statement regarding a Plainville motorist on Route 9 who was arrested after driving at over 130 miles per hour with the vehicle’s headlights off to escape troopers.
“We thank and commend the Connecticut State Police on their continued efforts to combat the reckless driving and speeding we’ve all witnessed on our highways. People are literally going twice the speed limit and putting lives at risk. We appreciate law enforcement’s tireless work to curb the recklessness we see, unfortunately, every day on our roads.”
