September 11, 2024In Canton: Sen. Seminara, community volunteers help to “Bag Hunger”
Sen. Lisa Seminara on Sep. 10 was among several area volunteers who participated in ShopRite of Canton’s “Help Bag Hunger” event to raise awareness of the fight against hunger in our communities.
Recipients of support include Gifts of Love, Avon Food Bank, Canton Food Bank and Hands of Grace Food Pantry.
“Food insecurity is a serious issue throughout our towns and throughout Connecticut,” said Sen. Seminara, who serves on the Human Services and Aging Committees as well as the Committee on Children. “That’s why events like ‘Help Bag Hunger’ are so important. This enables the community to step up in ways big and small to help neighbors in need.”
Sen. Seminara thanked the staff and management at ShopRite of Canton for their commitment to ending hunger and food insecurity. She also thanked her fellow volunteers and the community for donating their time and money to this good cause.
