CT Senate GOP Statement: “Where is the sense of urgency among CT Democrats?”

September 23, 2024

Connecticut Senate Republicans today issued the following statement regarding the governor’s recent television interviews in which he noted that the number one complaint he gets from Connecticut residents is “electric bills are too high” while also saying there won’t be a special session on electric rates due to the absence of any “constructive” policy solutions.

“Yes, governor, the number one issue whacking people’s wallets is the high cost of living in Connecticut. That’s made worse by sky-high electricity bills. And yes, governor, we Republicans continue to propose serious and ‘constructive’ ideas to fix this mess. Further, this mess can be made messier by a potential wind contract, in which costs to the ratepayers have been cloaked in secrecy. Where is the sense of urgency among Connecticut Democrats who control all levers of political power to do something to provide relief and transparency?”

Thousands have signed the Republicans’ petition for a special session at: www.SpecialSessionCT.com.

Connecticut Senate Republicans have also demanded transparency regarding future wind deal costs.
