CT Senate GOP: I-95 “street takeover” Shows More Reforms are Needed

September 24, 2024

Connecticut Senate Republicans today issued the following statement about the 100 motorcycles that were involved in a Connecticut street takeover that stopped I-95 traffic.

“They took over I-95. They coordinated it. They videotaped it. They put our police and the general public – thousands of people – in danger. And yet, they’re getting a slap on the wrist. We thank our law enforcement for all they do to protect us. More reforms are needed to deter these takeovers. There must be consequences. Republicans will continue to lead bipartisan discussions at the State Capitol to make Connecticut a safer, more accountable state. We need majority Democrats to join us in these discussions if we want to make progress.”
