Farmers: Livestock, Crops, & Field Assistance

DoAg has reinvigorated its disaster relief website here: Disaster Relief Resources (ct.gov).

In an effort to better understand the scope of the situation, DoAg is asking producers to share estimated losses with them through their online reporting tool. This data will be shared with USDA Farm Service Agency and UConn Extension as they send out resources and information. By filling out this information it will assist these entities in determining if a disaster declaration can be obtained. The farm name and contact information is not required, this is a tool to assess the damage done and report that out.

Infrastructure losses should be reported to the local emergency management team, to find yours, please go here: Regional Offices (ct.gov).

The Department of Agriculture can also be reached at [email protected].

Southbury

  • (8/19/24) The link below has been created for residents to self-report damage to their property. By submitting this form, officials will be able to utilize this information to develop an accurate damage assessment to measure how this flooding event impacted the town. This assessment will allow the local, State, and Federal officials to evaluate potential funding opportunities.

Town officials have been and will continue to be in contact with our public utilities to get services restored in a safe and timely manner.

  • (8/22/24) Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Network Offers Help with Flood Cleanup

The Town of Southbury is working with Southern Baptist Church Disaster Relief (SBCD) to head our disaster recovery efforts for private residents and businesses. SBCD started operating in Southbury today to assess damages and bring crews in to provide residents with flood recovery and mold mitigation efforts. This organization played a critical role in our tornado recovery effort in 2018. SBCD will help homeowners with free cleanup services such as:

  • Removal of residual mud and water
  • Carry-out of unsalvageable damaged property
  • Tear-out of damaged building materials: carpeting, pads, sheetrock, sub-flooring, etc.
  • Power-washing of damaged soiled areas
  • Sanitation

For those homeowners seeking assistance, please call 203-494-2675 to contact Southern Baptist Church Disaster Relief. Please be patient as the Town of Southbury is still under a State of Emergency.

  • (9/6/24) The Town of Southbury  waiving permit fees for flood-related repair work.

For your fees to be waived:

  1. If you haven’t already, you will need to report your home/business flood-related damages online – go to Emergency Center page and click on Report Flood Damage (which will bring you to Crisis Track reporting form).
  2. Go to our online permitting software, City Squared, to complete your permit application. Please check the box signifying ‘pay in office’.
  3. The Town will then verify that your permit application cross-checks to the information you reported online. If the information matches in both systems, the fees will be waived.

If you need assistance with either reporting your damage information or completing an online permit, the Town has staff available to assist you.
