CT Senate GOP: “Encouraging news” that Gov. Lamont is Open to Special Session on Electricity Costs

The Connecticut Senate Republican Caucus today issued the following statement regarding a public statement made by the governor’s office on Aug. 19.

“The governor’s office says that he is ‘open to considering practical solutions to help lower electricity costs in a special session.’ This is encouraging news. Senate Republicans agree with the governor: This should not be a partisan issue. We urge the governor to now follow through on those words. Convene the bipartisan meeting that all Senate Republicans have requested. Let’s meet as soon as possible. The clock is ticking and the meter is running. Let’s do something to help people. Provide relief. Fix this now. Stop the bleeding.”
