SOUTHBURY, CT– Senator Eric Berthel (R-Watertown) is thrilled to announce that the Heritage Village multi-use path project has received a significant boost with the allocation of $800,000 from Governor Lamont as part of the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (CTDOT) Community Connectivity Grant Program. This state-funded initiative, now in its sixth round of awards, is designed to provide financial support for local infrastructure projects that enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and bicyclists in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

Senator Berthel expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “Southbury boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in Connecticut, and this multi-use path will provide a fantastic opportunity for our community to experience it in new and exciting ways. Whether you’re biking, walking, running, or taking a leisurely stroller ride with your family, this path will allow people to enjoy the outdoors and connect with the environment around them.”

“We are committed to making our town safer and more accommodating for everyone,” Senator Berthel added. “This project is a significant step forward in achieving that goal, and I am proud to be a part of this initiative that will benefit our community for years to come.”
