Sen. Seminara Applauds $$ for Barkhamsted Farm

BARKHAMSTED – Sen. Lisa Seminara today applauded The Stead Farm on being awarded a $50,000 state agriculture grant to make investments in long-term climate resiliency projects which will decrease vulnerability to extreme weather events. The farm, located at 173 Old North Road, produces lamb, pork, poultry and eggs.

“Congratulations to The Stead Farm on being awarded this funding from the Department of Agriculture to help with regenerative farming practices,” Sen. Seminara said. “We must support all of our farmers in their efforts improve soils, increase productivity and enhance resilience. Agriculture is an economic engine for Connecticut and deserves our continued support.”
