Sen. Seminara Applauds Advancement of Pro-Veterans Legislation

April 30, 2024

Sen. Lisa Seminara today applauded the House of Representatives’ advancement of legislation she is co-sponsoring which seeks to establish a property tax exemption for veterans who have a service-connected permanent and total disability rating as determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill now awaits a vote in the Senate.

“We should be doing all we can to help all our veterans,” Sen. Seminara said. “They have served our country. They have defended our freedom. Many of our vets are disabled and struggling to make ends meet. This legislation will make our state more affordable for our vets in order to help them continue to live in Connecticut and retire here. It also sends a message to all who choose military careers that Connecticut supports them and their families. I look forward to voting ‘yes’ on it in the State Senate.”
