Senator Hwang Commends Superior Court Ruling Upholding PURA Decision on Aquarion Rate Increase

“I commend the Superior Court ruling upholding PURA’s denial of the significant rate increases proposed by Aquarion, a subsidiary of Eversource. These rate increases would have impacted constituents in my district, with no clear improvements to water quality or service. Aquarion failed to prove that these increases were necessary or appropriate. I applaud the PURA board and Chair Gillett for continuing to protect Connecticut’s ratepayers from overpaying for essential utility services.”
