March 8, 2024

Scores 100 percent on CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability scorecard for his 2023 voting record that supported conservative principles in key policy areas.

State Sen. Rob Sampson (R-Wolcott) today issued a statement on his perfect 100 percent conservative rating after the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA) released its 2023 ratings of the voting records of state legislators in all 50 states.

“I believe strongly in our unique American system of true representative government. I am elected by the people of the 16th District to represent their values in Hartford. My record in upholding conservative principles: limited, representative government, and the ideal of individual freedom over government force reflects these values. The people of my district know that they can count on me to continue upholding these principles as an unwavering champion of American freedom,” said Sen. Sampson.

The CLA selects from the full spectrum of issues relating to the economy, culture, national security, and government integrity to depict how closely a lawmaker adheres to conservative principles. For Connecticut, CLA selected 18 bills from the 2023 legislative session that best illustrate how members of the General Assembly view the role of government in an individual’s life
