Sen. Seminara: “Committed to helping
our most vulnerable residents stay warm.”

Sen. Lisa Seminara on Feb. 14 voted to approve $17 million in supplemental heating and fuel assistance for nonprofit agencies that help thousands of low-income state residents who have exhausted their winter aid.

“As Ranking Senator on the Human Services, Aging and Children’s Committees, I am committed to helping our most vulnerable residents,” Sen. Seminara said. “Seniors on fixed income, the disabled, and families in need are struggling to make ends meet and struggling to heat their homes.  This funding will help many stay warm, but we must continue to press for more support for this vital program. This will continue to be one of my top priorities.”  Sen. Seminara’s floor remarks can be watched here.
