Senator Fazio Celebrates $3 Million for Increased Accessibility & Inclusivity in Downtown Stamford

December 15, 2023

Today, State Senator Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich) announced the allocation of $3 million by the State Bond Commission to the City of Stamford for projects that will enhance accessibility and foster a vibrant downtown community. These projects will improve mobility and ensure the safety and enjoyment of all residents and visitors to downtown Stamford.

“We must create an environment where everyone, regardless of ability, has equal access to the amenities and opportunities the city has to offer. This funding will help remove barriers and ensure that Stamford remains a welcoming place for all,” Senator Fazio emphasized.

“Walkability is a key aspect of a thriving downtown community,” Senator Fazio remarked. “By investing in infrastructure improvements, such as new sidewalks and ADA upgrades, we promote inclusivity and create spaces where pedestrians feel safe and comfortable.”

The projects include construction and Americans with Disabilities Act improvements at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Richmond Hill Road, as well as the construction of a new sidewalk along Long Ridge Road.
