East Granby Lawmakers Applaud $$ Sidewalk Safety Upgrades
EAST GRANBY – Rep. Tami Zawistowski and Sen. John A. Kissel today applauded the announcement of a $590,000 state grant for Town Campus Sidewalk Connections in East Granby. The grant was awarded by the Connecticut Department of Transportation under the state-funded Community Connectivity Grant Program.
“I’m delighted that East Granby was awarded this grant to provide greater sidewalk accessibility to the town campus, which includes the town hall, library, senior/community center and other town buildings and amenities. This will be a welcome addition to our local infrastructure and highlights the benefits of coordination between local and state officials. We appreciate Governor Lamont’s continued attention to these types of projects,” Rep. Tami Zawistowski said.
“More positive news for East Granby,” Sen. Kissel said. “This $590,000 in state funding will make East Granby’s sidewalks safer and more accessible. This grant comes a month after the announcement of $500,000 in state funding for recreational facility upgrades at East Granby Farms. The combined effort of state and local leaders is helping to improve the quality of life in town for residents and visitors alike, and we appreciate the governor’s attention to East Granby’s needs.”
