Sen. Sampson Scores as Perfect Advocate for CT’s Business Community

October 30, 2023

Recognized for 100 percent pro-business voting record by CBIA in 2023 Legislative Voting Records Report

State Sen. Rob Sampson (R-Wolcott), ranking member of the Labor & Public Employees Committee, was recognized by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) for his 100 percent pro-business voting record on key bills that it identified as critical to the state’s business community and overall economic growth.

CBIA identified 10 key bills from the 2023 legislative session that make up the framework for a legislator’s voting record based on the potential impact—positive or negative—on job growth and the state’s post-pandemic recovery.

Legislators were scored based on their opposition or support of these measures relative to the business community’s positions.

“Businesses are the backbone of job creation, and it’s crucial for Connecticut to allow them to thrive without undue government force,” said Sen. Sampson. “My voting patterns represent the interests of countless businesses within our district and statewide. Recall, just three years ago, businesses had to halt operations not because of their choices. Now, they grapple with unprecedented inflation during their recovery phase. I urge all my colleagues to join me in keeping job creation and a thriving economy at the forefront of our decisions going forward.”
