Sen. Berthel Receives Perfect Score for Voting Record on Jobs & Economic Growth

Recognized for 100 percent pro-business voting record by CBIA in 2023 Legislative Voting Records Report

Chief Deputy Senate Republican Leader Eric Berthel (R-Watertown) was recognized by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) for his 100 percent pro-business voting record on key bills that it identified as critical to the state’s business community and overall economic growth.

CBIA identified 10 key bills from the 2023 legislative session that make up the framework for a legislator’s voting record based on the potential impact—positive or negative—on job growth and the state’s post-pandemic recovery.

Legislators were scored based on their opposition or support for these measures relative to the business community’s positions.

“I’m proud of this record of support for businesses in the 32^nd District and across the state. Connecticut’s economy remains flat, and operating costs continue to soar because of historic inflation. I’ll continue support measures that do not inflict further harm on our business community, and enable businesses to create the jobs needed for residents to prosper,” said Sen. Berthel.
