Senator Fazio Demands for More In-Person Hearings as DOT Proposes Fare Increases and Reduction of Services

September 29, 2023

State Senator Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich) sent a letter to the Department of Transportation Commissioner, Garrett Eucalitto, which expressed his deep concern over the lack of public input from his district due to the Department’s decision to limit in-person public hearings.

“I find it concerning that the Department has decided to hold only two in-person hearings, neither of which are being held in the areas where people use public transportation on a daily basis.” Senator Fazio said. “Hearing from residents impacted by the proposed changes is the point of holding public hearings. I pled with the Department to add additional in-person meetings to their schedule to ensure my constituents have input on this rather impactful proposal.”

Hearings will be conducted in-person in the City of New Haven on Monday, October 2nd and in the City of Hartford on October 3rd.
