Senator Fazio Applauds Allocation of $1.9 Million for The Avon Theatre of Stamford

Today, Senator Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich) applauded the State Bond Commission for including a total of $1,940,000 towards the renovation of  the Avon Theatre of Stamford on the agenda for their meeting next week.

“The Avon Theatre has been a staple of Stamford culture and has vastly contributed to it’s economic landscape for decades,” said Senator Fazio. “I am excited that the Theatre will have the opportunity to provide residents with enjoyable film experiences for decades to come. I applaud Governor Lamont and the State Bond Commission for seeing the value of this project and the vital role it plays in the Stamford community.”

The money will be used for a new roof, repointing masonry and brickwork, and making the lifts and restrooms ADA compliant.

The State Bond Commission is anticipated to approve this bonding at its October 6th meeting, which starts at 10:30 am in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. The agenda can be viewed here.
