July 6, 2023

Senator Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich) applauds the State Bond Commission for its approval of $6.5 million in funding allocated to the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, further solidifying the state’s commitment to enhance opportunities for and empower the youth in need of support in our community.

The funds, which Sen. Fazio and the Greenwich Delegation advocated for at the state level, will support renovations of the Clubhouse on Horseneck Lane in downtown Greenwich.

Senator Fazio said, “I’d like to thank the Commission for recognizing the importance of investing in our children through the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich. The state funds will support the needed renovation of the Clubhouse, which is a hub in our community to serve hundreds of great young people with important services. I also thank my colleagues in the Greenwich delegation for their united support of this project over recent months.

“For over 100 years, the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich has transformed lives, equipping our youth with the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed in the world. The grant means vital support for completing the capital campaign that will deliver a better BGCG than ever before,” Fazio remarked.

The $6.5 million for the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich is included as a part of a larger $80 million allocation from the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) for “urban development projects including economic and community development, transportation, environmental protection, public safety, children and families and social service projects” across the state.
