Sen. Kelly: Republicans pushing for “permanent, long-term affordability, especially for middle and working class families”

Kevin Kelly, R-Stratford, said that “First and foremost for us is permanent, long-term affordability, especially for middle and working class families that have been taking it on the chin with inflation and the high cost of living. There is a lot of opportunity because we have resources and there are a lot of interests that create more conversation than when times were leaner.”
Kelly said that a GOP plan on reinsurance, rejected by Democrats in recent years, could save families 30 percent on their health premiums at a time when costs have escalated 6 percent since 2021, hitting the middle class while also leaving lower income and minority groups under-insured or uninsured.
