“Fore!”  Sen. Hwang Honors SHU Golf Coach

Sen. Tony Hwang on Apr. 5 recognized the accomplishments of Sacred Heart University’s Men’s and Women’s Head Golf Coach Matt McGreevy in a ceremony at SHU’s Great River Golf Club in Milford. (Watch video of the ceremony here.)

In 2022, Coach McGreevy led both the Pioneers’ Men’s and Women’s teams to Northeast Conference (NEC) Golf Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances while being awarded “Coach of the Year” honors for both teams.

“We picked the week of The Masters Invitational to hold this ceremony, because it’s a perfect time to highlight the ‘masterful’ job that Coach McGreevy has done with the Sacred Heart golf programs,” Sen. Hwang said. “We were more than happy to ‘tee up’ Coach McGreevy’s accomplishments, because he really is an ‘ace’ in our books.”

Members of the SHU Administration and Golf Program as well as Great River Golf Club joined Coach McGreevy and Sen. Hwang at the ceremony, where Sen. Hwang presented Coach McGreevy with an official citation from the State of Connecticut.
